Our Story

Moorsbarrow Hall Farm Gundogs began the way the best things usually do — with one dog and a genuine love of the breed. What started as a family passion back in 2015 has grown, carefully and deliberately, into a small specialist gundog breeding business with a reputation we're proud of.

We live on our farm in the Cheshire countryside, and our dogs live right alongside us — not shut away in a kennel block, but as part of the family. We believe that's where a good working cocker should start life: handled daily, raised underfoot, used to the comings and goings of a busy farm. It's the foundation for the confident, biddable dogs we've become known for.

Bred to work, built to last

We breed working Cocker Spaniels that can do both jobs brilliantly — keen, stylish dogs in the field, and gentle, affectionate companions at home. Every mating is planned around health, temperament and proven working lines, never convenience. We're not a high-volume breeder and we never will be; we have the occasional, carefully considered litter, and we take just as much care choosing the right home for each puppy as we do raising it.

Health and welfare come first

The health of our dogs underpins everything we do. All of our breeding dogs are fully health tested and Kennel Club registered, and we're always happy to share every result — you'll find them on each dog's page, and we'll talk you through what they mean. We operate under a 5-star Cheshire West and Chester Council licence (No. 21/DB/022) under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) (England) Regulations 2018, which means our standards are independently inspected and held to the highest level.

Our dogs

Our stud team — Moose, Rambo (Charlie) and Rocky — carry excellent working bloodlines, including field trial champion lines, and are available to approved bitches. Between them they've produced healthy, happy, capable litters that have gone on to working homes and family homes alike.
