Why microchipping matters
Microchipping is a legal requirement in England. Dogs must be chipped by 8 weeks; since 10 June 2024 cats must be chipped by 20 weeks — including indoor cats. Owners without a chipped pet can face a fine of up to £500. Beyond the law, a chip is the best way to be reunited if your pet is lost or stolen.
What's included
A microchip (about the size of a grain of rice), implanted quickly and gently — much like a vaccination — plus registration of your details on a compliant pet database. The chip lasts your pet's lifetime; just keep your contact details up to date.
