Your First 8-Week Plan
Settling In
What to do in the first 72 hours. No overwhelming. Create safe spaces. Quiet introductions to the home, crate, and garden only.
First Habits
Introducing crate routine, potty schedule, name recognition, and feeding times. Building predictability your puppy can trust.
First Commands
Sit, come, leave it. Keep all sessions to 2 minutes maximum. Make it a game. End every session with a success.
Expanding the World
Garden recall. First short car trips. Meeting one calm new person each day. Short sniff walks on lead.
Building Routine
Establish a full daily schedule with consistent sleep, meal, training, and exercise slots. Predictability builds confidence.
Socialisation Sprint
New sounds, surfaces, animals, vehicles, and people of all ages. Aim for 3–5 new positive experiences every single day.
Review & Progress
By 16 weeks your puppy should: know their name, offer a sit, come when called in the garden, be comfortable in a crate, and walk on a loose lead in quiet areas.
